In a video posted on 2022/10/01 at Pegaxy’s Official Youtube Channel; Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer, Corey Wilton explained what the “6 Week Cycle” is within the Pegaxy Team, and how important it is to keep work in order for the efficient development of the game.
“What we do internally, is basically plan in 6 WEEK BLOCKS. Inside of those 6 weeks, we plan for the next 6 weeks, but we also dedicate 6 weeks for executing on pitches/proposals that were put forth within that time period.”
As a summary of the video, Corey explains what is done within these 6 weeks. His key points are the following:
- Within the first 4 weeks of the said 6 weeks, the team works to execute as much as possible. This is where they build what needs to be built, fix bugs, optimize, and test.
- The last 2 weeks of the said 6 weeks, will be what the team calls a “Cooldown Period”. This cooldown period is when the lead team of Pegaxy all gets together on a call to discuss what needs to be done next for the next 6 weeks. All this, together with working on everything that needs to be done if the “main product/tasks” from the last 4 weeks can still be optimized.
- The next 6 week block is near, and the team is getting ready to take a look at what is needed, talking about their pitches/proposals, weighing in the order of importance, scheduling and taking action on their next moves.
- This 6 WEEK BLOCK method was developed and practiced by the team in order for tasks to be structured. The organization requires STRUCTURE to operate as efficiently as possible.
“The cooldown isn’t stopping work, the cooldown is THE MAIN PRODUCT SHOULD BE DONE, and that’s when we’re fixing stuff. If it is not, then we have to hustle within those two weeks just to make sure we get it done. Testing and deployment, next 6 weeks. That’s how we work.”
